Getting your confidence for work

Would you like to work but lack the confidence?

Living with sight loss can be challenging. But we believe everyone affected by sight loss should be able to face the future with confidence.

In partnership with Action for Blind People and East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People, and funded by the Big Lottery, BucksVision is delivering a project called Big Skills which aims to improve your confidence and skills ready for volunteering and work.

Part of the project involves a two day course which will help you build your skills, meet new people and give you practical support to get you ready for work.

The two day workshop provides advice and practical solutions to a range of issues that can impact on confidence. These include:

  • Support and guidance on getting into work
  • Welfare benefits
  • Tips on using technology
  • Advice on the emotional aspects of sight loss
  • Looking after your eyes and making the most of your vision
  • Building your network
