Buckinghamshire Integrated Sensory Services
We are delighted to announce that BucksVision is now the service provider for Buckinghamshire Integrated Sensory Service (BISS).
BISS is commissioned by Buckinghamshire Council and provides a wide range of support to children and adults with sight, hearing, and dual sensory loss including enablement and habilitation services; equipment provision; information and advice; and registration of sensory loss.
Since 2012, BISS has been delivered by RNID, the Royal National Institute for Deaf People, but due to changes in their strategic priorities they decided not to bid for the contract when it came up for renewal last year.
Buckinghamshire Council undertook a stringent tender process to identify a new provider and we were delighted to be selected.
The BISS team has transferred across and are now based at our office. The service will remain the same and continue to be delivered to a high standard.
BISS can be contacted using the same phone numbers but there is a new email address:

We believe that this is a really positive development for BISS and BucksVision. By delivering BISS alongside our current services, we hope to reach even more people with sight loss and make a greater impact. We also hope that it will allow us to identify gaps in service provision and to develop new services.
Please note, this does not impact anyone living in Milton Keynes, you will continue to receive statutory support via the Sensory Advice Resource Centre (SARC).
